5 hour layover in Shanghai 😦
Finally got to Taipei Main station from the airport. It took about an hour to get to the station
First thing I do when I arrived at the hostel was head to the Shilin night market!!! Just a 1 minute walk from the hostel
Around the Shilin Night Market area
These face masks are super cheap. They are as low as 25 Canadian dollars
Pig blood sticky rice covered in peanuts and cilantro! At first I was skeptical of the colour but I’ve eaten pig blood before. It wasn’t too bad 🙂 Quite dense though
First bubble tea in Taipei and it definitely won’t be my last! 🙂
Around the night market
Stuffed sausage =O
Metro in Japan and Taiwan does not allow you to eat, drink or chew gum! There are also posters to remind people of subway etiquette
Computer room at the hostel
This is the station after the one that’s closest to my hostel (Jiantan station). I thought the view from the subway was great
Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall
Omg I lost my entire make up bag in Japan so I bought some bb cream and eyeliner. That’s all I’ve been using since! Not bad at all. BB creams are popular here in Asia and it seems to give some good coverage as well as moisture ^-^
There were a lot of booths in the area too! I’ve never seen this kind of stuff. It’s all made of paper
Walking around Taipei
There are a lot of motorcycles/vespas in Taipei
The 711 in Taipei also serves fish balls!!
This is what’s also sold at the 711
Ximendeng shopping district
This upstairs restaurant caught my attention because you can dine in with all these small and big plashes surrounding you
Inside of the restaurant
Hello Kitty stuff everywhere in Taipei
Hello Kitty makes an appearance
Saw the name of the building, Shinjuku, and reminded me of Tokyo, Japan!
Hello Kitty Sweets Cafe!!! 🙂
The infamous Shilin Public Market!!
I remember looking up food at the Shilin night market and these penis shaped pancakes came up! I was surprised. I think it’s funny too. I can’t believe I actually found the booth. And of course I ordered one to try it out.
Stuffed asian sausage. I eat this at home too in a bowl but this is a cooler way to eat it. However, it was pretty oily.
Last morning in Taipei and I decided to do the Nangang District Hiking Trail (Elephant Mountain). On my way I spotted this really nice hotel.
I forgot to bring a water bottle but thank goodness there was this guy that was making fresh juice! I don’t know what the fruit is called because we don’t have it in Toronto but it was like a orange but not too citrusy.
I did it 🙂 took about half an hour. Very steep stairs!
Went back to Ximendeng shopping area to grab some stuff. I forgot to mention that there are stores/booths that sell phone cases everywhere!!
These vending machines had super cute plushies. Too bad its so hard to actually grab them.
Bubble tea for the last time
Heading to the airport to fly to Manila, Philipines!!!
